M. Lake Elmo Avenue. and Highway 5Intersection Problem <br />11. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br />11.A Mayor John <br />Postpone City Administrator Kueffner's review until the July 21, 1998 City Council meeting. <br />Said he met with Ken Larson/Grant Nelson from the Evangelical Church, who had purchased the <br />Ziertman property. Advised the City Planner to work on the PF zoning district. Said Councilors DeLapp <br />& Hunt joined him at Imation for a ribbon cutting ceremony. <br />11.11 Councilmember DeLapp <br />Reported he had been appointed to a bridge study committee. <br />ILC Councilmember Dunn <br />Reported that Lake Elmo's Dr. Bailey (Cedar Pet Clinic) is a volunteer vet for the St. Croix Animal <br />Shelter. There will be an "Animal Walk-a-Thon" September 19, 1998. <br />11.D Councilmember Hunt <br />Reported he has met, at length with the MAC Committee, Fire Department and Facilities Committee and <br />they brainstormed several issues, including speculation for a new maintenance building, replacement of <br />the maintenance building, replacement of Fire Station No. 1, City Hall issues and a possible future Fire <br />Station No. 3. <br />Onno VanDemmeltraadt <br />Facilities Committee <br />Presented Memorandum #1 and a graph — Lake Elmo % Budget & Population Growth (attached). <br />Discussed recommendations and possible solutions that could help economize overall construction costs <br />for the City. <br />M/S/P Hunt/Johnston — to set a date for a workshop to include the Maintenance, Parks, MAC and <br />Facilities Committee to further discuss TKDA's response to Authorization for Professional <br />Services. <br />(Motion Passed 5-0). <br />11.D.1 Councilmember Hunt discussed the future plans for updating computers. Tentative plans <br />are to purchase 2 laptops, 2 new PC's, a media screen, digital camera, scanner, and also said there <br />were plans to meet with John Redpath regarding a needs assessment for the City's computer <br />systems, which will include exploring networking. <br />11.E Councilmember Johnston <br />Thanked Councilmember Hunt for his tireless efforts in dealing with all the thankless projects he <br />undertakes. <br />12. CITY ADMINISTRATORS REPORT <br />City Administrator Kueffner said staff will notify Washington County and formally call a meeting on July <br />14, 1998 at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers of City Hall with the Baytown Board and City Council <br />regarding the Consolidation Study. <br />M/S/P Johnston/Dunn — to approve Resolution No. 98-39, A resolution of intent to make application <br />to the Minnesota Board of Government Innovation and Cooperation for aid to study possible <br />consolidation of the City of Lake Elmo with the Town of Baytown. <br />(Motion Passed 5-0). <br />City of Lake Elmo Council Meeting Tuesday, July 7, 1998 <br />Page 8 <br />
