A letter should be sent notifying the hot <br />air balloon company of this violation. <br />10. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: <br />B. Workshop with Tautges and Redpath on Fiscal Disparities <br />Administrator Kueffner reported the audit report is done and informed the Finance Director, who has been <br />on vacation, to invite Tautges to a workshop about Tax Increment Financing and Fiscal Disparities. <br />C. Relief Association <br />Fire Chief Dick Sachs had indicated that Brad Winkel would attend the September 1 Council meeting with <br />a report from the Relief Association. <br />E. Environmental Commission <br />Administrator Kueffher will provide a draft of an ordinance establishing the Environmental Commission. <br />J. Bike Safety on Manning/TH5 <br />Councilor DeLapp will contact Sandy Cullen, Washington County, with the Council concerns and possible <br />resolution of widening the road 3 feet. <br />11. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS: <br />Mayor John reported at Huff N Puff Days the team consisting of Council, members of the Planning <br />Commission, Maintenance Staff and Fire Department lost to the Lake Elmo Business Association by one <br />run because the game was arbitrarily shortened when they were about to surpass the opposition. <br />Councilor Dunn received two calls on changing the speed sign on Highway 17 and 5 by the Lake Elmo <br />Elementary School and requesting construction of a crosswalk and speed control on Highway 5. Lake <br />Elmo Hardwood Lumber celebrated 50 years of service in the City and asked a resolution in recognition be <br />prepared. <br />Councilor Hunt will be working on establishing a meeting of the Building Group in the next week or two. <br />Based on the concern of health, safety, and welfare of the Council, Councilor Johnston asked if there was <br />money to purchase replacement chairs for the Council chambers. Councilor DeLapp volunteered to help <br />with the chair selection. Administrator Kueffner will write a memo on the upgrade for City Hall. <br />Councilor DeLapp received a call requesting stop signs or signals at the intersection on Highway 5 and <br />Highway 17 <br />12. CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: <br />A, Appointment to the Lake Elmo/Baytown Consolidation Steering Committee <br />Administrator Kueffner reported Jeff Berg and Tom Armstrong have agreed to serve on the Lake <br />Elmo/Baytown Consolidation Steering Committee. <br />M/S/P Johnston/Dunn — to appoint Jeff Berg and Tom Armstrong, as the Lake Elmo Planning <br />Representatives, to the Lake Elmo/Baytown Consolidation Steering Committee and Administrator Kueffner <br />will solicit two residents at large. (Motion passed 5-0). <br />B. VBWD Vacancy <br />M/S/P Hunt/Dunn — to direct the Administrator to send a letter to Washington County endorsing the <br />appointment of Steve Foley to fill the vacancy on the Valley Branch Watershed District.
