Evaluation of Offsetting 24' Roadway and Paving 8' Path <br />on Existing Road Core <br />Disadvantages: <br />♦ Presents significant safety and maintenance issues. <br />♦ Eliminates shoulder from one side of road. <br />♦ Both lanes of traffic would "tip" in same direction. <br />♦ Existing shoulders are "rounded" or slope at higher <br />rate than paved roadway requiring excessive shoulder <br />build-up. <br />♦ Does not meet state aid standards. <br />
