MINUTES: June 16, 1999 <br />M/S/P DeLapp/Armstrong — to approve the June 16, 1999 City Council minutes, as amended. (Motion <br />passed 4-]:Abstain Hunt) <br />3. CLAIMS <br />M/S/P Dunn/Siedow — to approve the July 6, 1999 Claims, as presented. (Motion passed 5-0). <br />4. PUBLIC INOUIRIES/INFORMATIONAL: <br />A. Public Inquiries <br />Jeanne Nelson requested "Residential Parking Only" signs on 34"" street because the overflow parking for <br />Lake Elmo Inn is running onto their street. Also, the streetlight on the corner of 34" Street is not bright <br />enough to illuminate the walkway from the Lake Elmo Inn parking lot. <br />M/S/P DeLapp/Dunn — to direct the staff to write a letter to the four residents on 34" Street indicating the <br />City will be installing "Residents Parking Only" signs along 341" Street unless the City hears otherwise <br />from the residents. (Motion passed 5-0). <br />M/S/P DeLapp/Siedow — to direct the staff to investigate if the corner of 34" Street and Lake Elmo Avenue <br />could be illuminated better for visibility for pedestrian traffic. (Motion passed 5-0). <br />A(1) Skyhawks Program <br />Chris Simonson, accompanied by Mini -Hawk Summer Sport campers John and Alex Hunt, spoke on how <br />successful and fun the Summer Sports Programs have been and announced future camps for Soccer on July <br />26-30, Baseball and Softball on July12-16. <br />B. Huff N Puff Proclamation: Lake Elmo Jaycees Non -Intoxicating Liquor License <br />MAYOR HUNT PROCLAIMED AUGUST 5, 6, 7, 8, 1999 TO BE HUFF'N PUFF DAYS, THE <br />OFFICIAL CITY CELEBRATION FOR 1999 IN LAKE ELMO, AND URGED ALL CITIZENS OF OUR <br />COMMUNITY TO GIVE FULL REGARD TO THE PAST AND CONTINUING SERVICES OF THE <br />LAKE ELMO JAYCEES <br />Randy Wagner, President of LE Jaycees invited the City Council, any City employee, and Fire Department <br />members to play in the City vs. Business Softball game on Saturday, August 7, 1999, 4 p.m., Lions Park. <br />M/S/P DeLapp/Dunn — to approve an on -sale non -intoxicating malt liquor license to the Lake Ehno Jaycees <br />for its annual FIuuf N Puff Festival to be held August 5 through 8, 1999; contingent upon approval by the <br />Washington County Attorney and Sheriff and to waive the fees for the liquor license and ballfield lights. <br />(Motion passed 5-0). <br />C. Vacation of r-o-w 25'n Street and Lisbon Avenue: Tim Mandel <br />On February 6, 1996, the Council held a public hearing to consider the vacation of the above referenced <br />streets. This vacation was initiated by a majority of the property owners abutting the streets. The Council <br />denied the request subject to reevaluation after cluster development standards were in place. Tim Mandel, <br />one of the petitioners, has now asked the Council for the reevaluation. <br />Gay VanPelt, 2461 Lisbon Avenue N., stated land can be developed as Open Space, which has changed <br />since 1996, the petitioners are interested in talking to the City Council. <br />LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES JULY 6, 1999 <br />
