LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br />MARCH 7, 2017 <br />ITEM 16: 2017-2018 Work Plan <br />City Administrator Handt presented a proposed work plan developed from discussion at the <br />February 14, 2017 workshop. <br />Councilmember Nelson, seconded by Councilmember Bloyer, moved TO ADOPT THE <br />GOALS IDENTIFIED IN THE DRAFT 2017-2018 WORK PLAN. <br />Mayor Pearson, seconded by Councilmember Bloyer, moved to amend the primary motion to <br />strike "area schools" from the work plan. Motion passed 3 —1. (Fliflet — nay) <br />Primary motion passed 4 — 0. <br />ITEM 9: Appoint City Attorney for Prosecution Services <br />City Administrator Handt reviewed the background and staff recommendation. <br />Councilmember Fliflet, seconded by Mayor Pearson, moved TO APPOINT EC%BERG <br />LAMMERS CITYATTORNEYFOR PROSECUTION SERVICES. MOTION FAILED 2 — <br />2. (Bloyer, Nelson —nay) <br />Councilmember Bloyer, seconded by Councilmember Nelson, moved TO APPOINT <br />JOHNSON TURNER CITY ATTORNEY FOR PROSECUTION SER VICES. Motion failed 2 <br />— 2. (Pearson, Fliflet — nay) <br />ITEM 11: Environmental Committee Appointments <br />City Administrator Handt reported that one additional application was received from Jim Kelly. <br />Councilmember Bloyer, seconded by Councilmember Nelson, moved TO APPOINT BRENDA <br />JO CARLSON, DOMINIC TRAVIS, SCOTT DROMMERHAUSEN, BEVERLY <br />SCHWALBACHAND TEDI CARLSON TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITTEE. <br />Motion passed 4 — 0. <br />Councilmember Bloyer, seconded by Councilmember Nelson, moved TO ADJOURN THE <br />MEETING. Motion failed 2 — 2. (Fliflet, Pearson - nay) <br />Mayor Pearson: Met with property owners regarding various issues. <br />Councilmember Nelson: Met with the Building Official. <br />Councilmember Bloyer: No report. <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />
