LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br />JANUARY S, 2019 <br />Mayor Pearson, seconded by Councilmember Dorschner, moved TO APPOINT KATHY <br />WEEKS, BRIANSTEIL AND CHARLES CADENHEAD TO THE PLANNING <br />COMMISSION FOR TERMS ENDING 1213112021. <br />Councilmember Bloyer offered a friendly amendment TO APPOINT CHARLES <br />CADENHEAD TO A TERM ENDING 1213112020 AND KYLE RISNER TO A TERM <br />ENDING 1213112021. Amendment accepted. Motion passed as amended 5 — 0. <br />ITEM 9: Parks Commission Appointments <br />Administrator Handt provided an overview of vacancies on the Parks Commission to be filled. <br />Councilmember Bloyer, seconded by Councilmember Nelson, moved TOAPPOINTISAK <br />NIGHTENGALE TO THE PARKS COMMISSION FOR A TERM ENDING 1213112019. <br />Motion passed 5 — 0. <br />Mayor Pearson, seconded by Councilmember Dorschner, moved TO APPOINT BARRY <br />WEEKS, JOHNMAYEKAND STEVE SCHUMACHER TO THE PARKS COMMISSION <br />FOR TERMS ENDING 1213112021. Motion passed 4 —1. (Bloyer — nay) <br />ITEM 10: 2019 Planning Commission Work Plan <br />Planning Director Roberts provided an overview of the Planning Commission Work Plan. <br />Discussion was held regarding changes made in 2014 that removed cemeteries and other uses <br />from the zoning code and potential requirements for multifamily rental properties in high density <br />development areas. <br />Councilmember Dorschner, seconded by Mayor Pearson, moved TO APPROVE THE <br />PLANNING COMMISSION 2019 WORK PLAN WITH THE ADDITION OF THE TWO <br />ITEMS DISCUSSED AS A PRIORITY]. Motion passed 5-0. <br />ITEM 11: 2019 Parks Commission Work Plan <br />City Planner Prchal provided an overview of the Parks Commission Work Plan. Discussion was <br />held concerning the installation of city water at Pebble Park. <br />Mayor Pearson, seconded by Councilmember Dorschner, moved TO APPROVE THE 2019 <br />PARKS COMMISSION WORK PLAN WITH REMOVAL OF INSTALLATION WATER <br />SERVICE AND SEALING WELL AT PEBBLE PARK. <br />Councilmember Bloyer, seconded by Councilmember Nelson, moved TO AMEND THE <br />PRIMARY MOTION TO ADD STRIKING $10,000 FOR VOLLEYBALL COURTS AND <br />$15,000 FOR LIGHTING AND SECURITYAT PEBBLE PARK.
