WASHINGTON COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 2013-38 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MAPLEWOOD AND THE CITY OF LAKE ELMO FOR CONSTRUCTION OBSERVATION SUPPORT SERVICES
WHEREAS, LAKE ELMO and MAPLEWOOD provide engineering and technical support services for their communities; and WHEREAS, LAKE ELMO has a need for construction observation support services for
the Keats MSA Street and Trunk Watermain Improvement Project and for other projects from time to time; and WHEREAS, MAPLEWOOD has Engineering support staff and other technical employees that are able to provide the services required by LAKE ELMO; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 471.59 authorizes political subdivisions of the State to enter into Joint Powers Agreements for the joint exercise of powers common to each, and also authorizes one of the parties to an agreement to exercise powers on behalf of another party.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, 1. That the City Council approves the Joint Powers Agreement with the City of Maplewood. 2. That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to execute said agreement.
