The change order realigns a portion of the gravity sewer pipe to place the sewer within the limits of the future right-of-way of 5th Street. New roadway and utility easements have been acquired at no cost to the City, to allow the placement of the sewer along the new alignment. With this realignment, previously acquired sewer easements will go unused and may be vacated with acquisition costs being returned to the City. Change Order No. 1 issues revised plan sheets to alter the project design (Plan Sheets C301, C501, C502, C503, and C504), revises the contract quantities, and revises the contract amount for the project (see attached Change Order No. 1). With approval of Change Order No. 1, the revised Contract amount will be decreased by $19,603.70 for a revised Contract Amount of $3,443,597.90. 2 RECOMMENDATION: Staff is recommending that the City Council consider approving, as part of the Consent Agenda, Change Order No. 1 for the Lake Elmo Avenue Sewer Infrastructure Improvements: I-94 to 30th Street, thereby decreasing the Contract Amount by $19,603.70.
