POLICY RECOMMENDER: Mayor Pearson
FISCAL IMPACT: NA
SUMMARY AND ACTION REQUESTED: Mayor Pearson has decided to step down from his position on the Library Board and appoint Council Member Justin Bloyer to the board as his replacement. There is also one other vacancy on the Board and the Mayor would like to appoint Judy Gibson to that spot. The motion for this action is as follows:
“Move to appoint Justin Bloyer and Judy Gibson to the Lake Elmo Library Board.” LEGISLATIVE HISTORY: Per MN State Statutes, the mayor of a municipality has the authority and responsibility to appoint members of the local library board. The appointment must
be affirmed by the members of the City Council.
RECOMMENDATION: Mayor Pearson has decided to step down from his position on the
Library Board and appoint Council Member Justin Bloyer to the board. There is also one other
vacancy on the Board and the Mayor would like to appoint Judy Gibson to that spot. The motion for this action is as follows:
“Move to appoint Justin Bloyer and Judy Gibson to the Lake Elmo Library Board.”
