SUMMARY AND ACTION REQUESTED:
Contract with Parliamentarian has been requested.
BACKGROUND AND STAFF REPORT:
At the 1/5/16 city council meeting, the Parliamentarian offered to enter into
negotiations to decrease his rates. He has offered a couple different options in the
attachment.
Schedule 1A has a discount based on 1, 3,or 6 month contract for services.
Schedule 1B changes the discount, but charges more for meetings that run over 5
hours
Schedule 2 would apply if he sits with staff and rules on points of order only and
does not run the meeting.
RECOMMENDATION: Council should decide how long they wish to contract
with parliamentarian.
Motion: “Move to contract with Kevin Wendt as a parliamentarian for city
council meetings for ___ months according to schedule 1A or 1B of the
attachment.”
