ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: Should the City Council accept the improvements and approve Pay Request No. 1 (Final) for the 2017 Mill & Overlay Project? BACKGROUND: Hardrives, Inc. was awarded a construction contract on July 18, 2017 to complete the Mill & Overlay Project. The substantial completion date for the project was October 6, 2017. PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: Hardrives, Inc., the Contractor for the project, has completed the 2017 Mill & Overlay Project in accordance with the construction contract. The Project Engineer has
prepared a Certificate of Completion indicating that all work is completed, including all punch list items, and is recommending the acceptance of the improvements and release of final retainage. Project acceptance will initiate the one-year warranty period for the improvements. The one-year warranty will begin on
October 17, 2017 and will extend through October 17, 2018. The final total construction cost for the project is $245,717.58 which is 2.7% under the contract amount of
$252,436.59. FISCAL IMPACT: None. Final payment is proposed in accordance with the contract for the project. The Project has been completed within the authorized scope and budget. RECOMMENDATION: Staff is recommending that the City Council, as part of the Consent Agenda, accept the improvements and approve Pay Request No. 1 (Final) for the 2017 Mill & Overlay Project. If removed from the consent agenda, the recommended motion for the action is as follows:
“Move to accept the 2017 Mill & Overlay Improvements and approve Pay Request No. 1 (Final) to Hardrives, Inc. in the amount of $245,717.58”. ATTACHMENTS:
