BACKGROUND: All personnel on the Lake Elmo FD are required to maintain their State
Certification for Firefighter II. Part of this requirement is 24 hours of annual firefighter training per NFPA 1001. We have been utilizing Century College for our required annual Firefighting CEU’s since 2014. We participate in the program with 5 other FD’s in the area. This allows our personnel multipule dates, times and locations to attend each of the 8-3 hour training session.
ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: Renewal of one year, “STATE OF MINNESOTA, MINNESOTA STATE COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES, Century College, CUSTOMIZED TRAINING INCOME CONTRACT” for 2018. PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS:
FISCAL IMPACT: $2,755.00, ($2,475.00 had been budgetd for 2018) to be billed quarterly in the amount of $688.75. OPTIONS: 1) Approval renewal of one year contract. 2) Deny approval RECOMMENDATION: Approve renewal of annual contract.
