BACKGROUND:
At the April 18, 2017 Council meeting, Council approved the Sally Manzara Interpretive Nature
Center Development, Lease, License and Operating Agreement. Pursuant to Article II, 1., d. the
City Council is responsible for appointing the City representative to serve on the Friends’ Board
of Directors.
ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL:
Who should the Council appoint as the City representative to the Friends of Sunfish Lake Park
Board of Directors?
PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS:
Council member Nelson has met with a couple members of the board and is willing to serve as
the City’s representative to the Friends of Sunfish Lake Park Board of Directors for a term
concurrent with her term on City Council.
FISCAL IMPACT:
NA
OPTIONS:
1) Appoint Council Member Chris Nelson to the Friends of Sunfish Lake Park Board of
Directors for a term concurrent with her term on City Council
2) Appoint another Council Member to the Friends of Sunfish Lake Park Board of Directors
for a term concurrent with her/his term on City Council
3) Appoint another person to the Friends of Sunfish Lake Park Board of Directors
RECOMMENDATION:
If removed from the consent agenda:
Motion to appoint Chris Nelson to the Friends of Sunfish Lake Park Board of Directors for a
term concurrent with her term on City Council
