ITEM: Report on potential park and trail grant opportunities

SUMMARY AND ACTION REQUESTED:
Carol Kriegler will provide a brief update on potential park and trail grant opportunities. Carol
and the City’s Forester, Dr. Kathy Widen have set up a meeting with a DNR Community
Assistance staff member in the coming week for the purpose of further exploring grant
opportunities with the DNR. The commission may want to consider submitting an “Expression of
Interest” for one or two opportunities available through the DNR’s Metro Greenways Program.
