Photo review of existing park entrance signs and discussion on possible sign replacement / repair, and landscaping. SUBMITTED BY: Carol Kriegler, Project Assistant The dir2008 Capital Improvement Plan included $15,000 for signage. Expenditures related to a Sunfish Lake Park trail map panel system was completed in 2008. The 2009 Capital Improvement plan includes $13,000 for signage. Reid Park and Pebble Park have been identified previously by the parks commission ector of as priorities for sign design development. The City’s Community Improvement Committee has identified park planting / landscape beds as a potential project for the committee. Considerable park sign fabrication can be achieved in-house by the public works staff. Depending on snowfall levels, the winter season can sometimes be a good time of the year to accomplish this sort of project. In light of this, the parks commission might want to finalize park sign designs so that signs might be fabricated this winter with planned early spring installations. Carol Kriegler will make a brief power point presentation regarding a comprehensive sign program. ACTION REQUESTED: The Park Commission is being asked to provide a recommendation to the City Council on Formatted: Font: (Default) Arial donating funds from the park general capital fund to Belwin’s feedback and direction related to various sign design options. Specifically the commission is being asked to confirm park priorities and provide direction regarding pertaining to the following: Formatted: Justified A.Sign panel size and shape. ATTACHMENTS: Location Map Site map The Park Commission conducted a Heights Park neighborhood meeting on Wednesday, May 7 2008. The meeting was attended by 12 neighbors and 4 commission members. A summary of the meeting is attached. The 2009 CIP includes $25,000 for improvements to this park. The Parks Commission is being asked to discuss what amenities and improvements might be a part of the plan.
