ITEM: Update on implementation of 2011 planned park improvements

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
A number of significant improvements are planned for Sunfish Lake and other parks including
some that began last summer and fall. Improvements include a prairie restoration in area 2,
parking area grading, parking area definition through boulder placement, signage, and the
installation of rain garden / stormwater runoff treatment areas. Other planned improvements
include lighting improvements at Lions Park as well as other maintenance related improvements
throughout the City’s park system.
Mike Bouthilet and Carol Kriegler will provide an update on the status of various planned
improvements as well as an action plan / schedule for completing the improvements and tasks
this year.
