ITEM: Discussion on park signage

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Carol Kriegler will provide a brief overview of progress to date in developing a comprehensive
sign program for the City’s park system. An update will also be provided regarding the
development of regulatory signage for Sunfish Lake Park, specifically that which addresses
inappropriate activities in the park. Commission member Rolf Larson has developed a sign
message concept that employs a creative fun spin with the intended purpose of encouraging
park use while discouraging inappropriate use and activities. The concept will be shared.
The Parks Commission is asked to provide comment and direction in developing a
comprehensive sign program.
