ITEM: Discussion of Lake Elmo Park Reserve West Side Access Plan

SUMMARY AND ACTION REQUESTED:
Efforts between Washington County, the City of Lake Elmo and the City of Oakdale have been
made in an effort to develop an access plan for the west side of the Lake Elmo Park Reserve.
This is a “SHIP” coordinated effort meaning that it is a State Health Improvement Program. An
Open House was held at Lake Elmo City Hall on June 8 in an effort to get community input. The
Open House included an overview many possible options and to illicit response from the public.
The options presented are outlined in the enclosed attachments. City Planner Kelli Matzek, who
has attended related meetings on the subject, will provide a brief overview of the options and
respond to any questions.
ACTION REQUESTED:
The Parks Commission is being asked to review the possible access options and provide
comment to be forwarded to Washington County and the project’s Technical Advisory Committee.
