neighborhood parks to scenic natural areas, the city works hard to offer a broad range of opportunities.
As the city moves into the future, we are seeking ideas for activities to build into new parks.
Currently, we are exploring options for developing several acres that will be handed over to the city
when the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (PCA) completes it's cleanup on the West Side of Sunfish
Lake Park.
This new park space will largely be in a depression next to the mound that encloses the waste that has
been seeping into the watershed. The PCA will plant it with a special prairie seed mix. We will not be
allowed to add significant structures (including play apparatus) in this park area.
