ITEM: Update on Lake Elmo Park Reserve West Side Access Plan

SUMMARY AND ACTION REQUESTED:
Efforts between Washington County, the City of Lake Elmo and the City of Oakdale have been
made in an effort to develop an access plan for the west side of the Lake Elmo Park Reserve.
This is a “SHIP” coordinated effort meaning that it is a State Health Improvement Program. An
Open House was held at Lake Elmo City Hall on June 8 in an effort to get community input. The
Open House included an overview many possible options and to illicit response from the public.
At the June Park Commission meeting City Planner Kelli Matzek provided a brief overview of the
options and solicited comment from the Commission. Kelli has since attended a follow-up
meeting of the project’s Technical Advisory Committee and will provide an update on those
planning efforts.
