Tablyn Park Updates:
1) Baseball Field Work:
Make Outfield level, move benches out from fence. Site grading is estimated at $8.66 per cubic yard
(from FOCUS).
2) Entrance Gate:
The budget for the Sunfish Lake Park gate was $18,000. The actual gate totaled $14,000.
3) Lights: The area is not on the City’s grid, and lights would need to be rented from Excel. The rent would
be about $8 per month per light. Excel would own the lights and we would be paying for power. There is
a limited selection of lights from Excel. We could potentially buy our own lights, however we would have
to work with Excel to get the light approved.
4) Playground Feature:
The Unity Dome: For Climbing, imaginative play, and music. Price: $12,500. Ages 5-12. Dimensions: 27’
x 27’.
Rushmore: For climbing and imaginative play. Price: $18,000. Ages 5-12. Dimensions: 24' 8'' x 29' 1''.
Unity Large Canopy: Inspired by traditional monkey bars. Price: $6,000. Ages 5-12. Dimensions: 25' 4'' x
21' 1''.
Clubhouse Timber Tower: Apex Climber:
5) Remove Basketball Court: (30 x 35 feet or 1050 sq ft or 39 cu yd)

b. Contractor Cost Estimate: $1,000 - $5,000.
6) Stairs: Anderson Concrete and Masonry did a rough estimate of $28,300 to replace the stairs.
7) Trail: A switchback trail would include regarding parts of the hill. The trail itself would be $2.62 per
square foot, or $13.09 per linear foot for a 5 foot wide trail. This estimate includes excavation, a crushed
aggregate base, asphalt, a 10% overhead cost, and a 5% contractor profit cost. If we added 1,000 feet of
new trail, the estimate cost is $13,660.
8) Trees: Fruit Tree Prices: Small trees are $39.99 for a #5 container. Medium trees are $69.99, and large
trees are $129.99.
Evergreens: Small (very small):$19.99 to large $299.00
Shade and Ornamental Trees: Small: $74.99 to large $369.00.
9) Warming House/Toilets: Afton approved a warming house in 2010 at a cost of $4,250. Baglio Real
Estate Group constructed the warming house. It is on a trailer and the City moves it onto the site in
winter.
