A RESOLUTION REQUESTING FUNDING FROM THE MINNESOTA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION THROUGH THE FY-2021
LOCAL PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM FOR THE TH36-KEATS AVE, NUE
EASTBOUND ACCELERATION LANE
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) T is currently accepting
candidate projects for the Fiscal Year 2121 Local Partnership Program (LPP); and,
WHEREAS, the City of Lake Elmo has identified a project which will deliver a benefit to both
the local community and the trunk highway systern; and,
WHEREAS, the Project, the construction of an eastbound acceleration lane on TH 36 extending
vastly from Teats Avenue, will address an unsafe merging problem on the trunk highway system
that is of concern to the citizens of the City of Labe Elmo; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Lake Elmo is cor initted to providing the local share of the Project costs
if the Project is selected as hart of the FY 221 Local Partnership Program, an
WHEREAS, the City of Lake Elmo is committed to completing the Project if selected as part of
the EY 2021 Local Partnership Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED,
I , That the Labe Elmo City Council, hereby adopts this Resolution, supporting the application
for funding from the Minnesota eta Department of Transportation through the FY 2021 Local
Partnership Program.
. That if the Project, the construction: of an eastbound acceleration lane on T -13o extending
eastly from Teats Avenue, is selected for hinding, the city shall provide the city's share of
funding and the city will be commi tted to completing the Project by the end of 2 }21,
ADOPTED BY THE LAKE L CITY COUNCIL ON THE TWENTY-FIRST DAY OF
MAY 2019.
