HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-040CITY OF LAKE ELMO STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 2019-040 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BIDS AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE 2019 SEAL COAT PROJECT WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the 2019 Seal Coat Project, bids were received, opened, and tabulated according to law, and bids were received complying with the advertisement, and WHEREAS, bids were tabulated, checked and summarized to verify that all requirements of the submittals were met; and WHEREAS, the project engineer reviewed the bids and has provided a later recommending the award of the contract to the lowest responsible bidder, Pearson Bros, Inc, in the amount of NOW, TE ,IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, 1; That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a Contract in the accordance with the above ordered Project, in the amount of theContractor's lowest responsible bid, and according to the plans and specifications thereof approved by the City Council. 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next two lowest bidders shall be retained until a contract has been signed. V T nil F, MI V WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is currently accepting candidate projects for the Fiscal Year 2021 Local Partnership Program (LPP), and, WHEREAS, the City of Lake Elmo has identified a project which will deliver a benefit to both the local community and the trunk highway system; and, WHEREAS, the Project, the construction of an eastbound acceleration lane on Tel 36 extending eastly fi-om Keats Avenue, will address an unsafe merging problem on the trunk highway system that is of concern to the citizens of the City of Lake Elmo; and, WHEREAS, they -City of Lake Elmo is committed to providing the local share of the Project costs if the Project is selected as part of the FY 2021 Local Partnership Program; and, WHEREAS, the City of Lake Elmo is committed to completing the Project if selected as part of the FY 2021 Local Partnership Program. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, 1. That the Lake Elmo City Council, hereby adopts this Resolution, supporting the application for funding from the Minnesota Department of Transportation through the FY 2021 Local Partnership Program. 2. That if the Project, the construction of an eastbound acceleration lane on TH 36 extending eastly from Keats Avenue, is selected for funding, the city shall provide the city's share of funding and the city will be co-fittedto completing the Project by the end of 202 1.
