RESOLUTION NO. 2019-049
A RESOLUTION RE' STRICTING PARKING ALONG 32nd STREET NORTH,
EAST OF LAKE LMO AVENUE
WHEREAS, the City of Lake Elmo, Minnesota has adopted City Engineering
Standards that set parking standards for residential streets; and
WHEREAS, the City reconstructed 32nd Street east of Lake Elmo Avenue in 2018
to a width of about 19 feet; and
WHEREAS, the residents along this part of 32 d Street have requested the City
allow parking on at least one side of the street; and
WHEREAS, the City Council reviewed this request during their work session on
June 11, 2019; and
WHEREAS, the City Council directed City staff to bring the matter back to the
Council with a recommendation and for possible formal action; and
WHEREAS, City staff has reviewed this on -street parking request and is
recommending that if the City Council is going to allow parking on 32 nd Street North that
the City Council only allow parking on the north side of 32d Street North lying east of
Lake Elmo Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Lake Elmo shall ban the parking of motor vehicles on the south side of 32nd Street
North lying east of Lake Elmo Avenue and in and around the cul-de-sac at the cast end of
32nd Street North.
