RESOLUTION NO.2020-041
A RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND REJECTING ALL BIDS FOR THE
HERITAGE FARMS STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Heritage Farms Street and
Utility Improvements, bids were received, opened, and tabulated according to law, and bids were
received complying with the advertisement; and
WHEREAS, bids were tabulated, checked and suininarized to verify that all
requirements of the submittal were met; and
WHEREAS, the project engineer reviewed the bids and has provided a letter
recommending the award of the contract to the lowest responsible bidder, S R Weidema, Inc., for
the amount of $3,221,642.40; and
WHEREAS, the low bid exceeds the preliminary assessment amounts and available
budget for the project; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,
1. The construction contract bids for Heritage Farms Street and Utility Improvements are
hereby rejected.
2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the
deposits made with their bids and notice them the City of Lake Elmo is not proceeding
with the Heritage Farm Street and Utility Improvements project at this time.
ADOPTED BY THE LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL ON THE TWENTY-FIRST DAY
OF APRIL, 2020.
