ITEM: Rotary Membership for the city administrator

PURPOSE. The city council is being asked to approve the membership of City
Administrator, Susan Hoyt, in the Lake Elmo Rotary Club. The purpose of the
membership is three-fold First, to provide an opportunity for the city administrator to
network with local community leaders as one way to better understand the community’s
goals and perceptions and to take into account in city business. Second, to provide a
communication and coordination function between rotary’s community service projects and
the city’s roles in helping with these. Thirdly, demonstrating the city’s support for
public service both as a city representative and as a citizen
The City had sponsored the former city administrator in the Lake Elmo Rotary Club.
The city’s participation will assist in coordination of the benefits received from the local
rotary club. The initiation fee is $50.00, the quarterly dues are $125 and this amount
has been budgeted.
