SUMMARY AND ACTION REQUESTED: The city council is being asked to authorize the use of Stillwater PC, Tom Wegner, for IT services on an as needed basis at an hourly rate of $110 per hour. The purpose of this request is to bring in a local specialist to handle IT problems, to upgrade our IT service and to evaluate our IT systems so they function efficiently and cost effectively. The IT service is a totally separate service than a web service. Tom’s experience running his own IT business and his location in Lake Elmo along with his local reputation for service including to the city of Lakeland make him a good short term fit. Tom will be moving to Chicago and he will work with us to find a match for future IT services prior to his departure. MOTION
Move to authorize contracting with Tom Wegner for IT services and to provide him passwords
and access codes to the city IT system for this purpose.
