ITEM: Consider hiring a seasonal employee for public works

SUMMARY AND ACTION REQUESTED: The city council is being asked to hire a seasonal employee, Mr.
Logan Weir, as a seasonal employee in the public works department. Mr. Weir was one of three
candidates for the position. He is available for the summer months and, if hired, will work at an $8
/hour wage. The position is covered in the 2007 budget. The position will support the wide variety of
parks and infrastructure maintenance activities that are part of the department’s summer
responsibilities.
MOTION
Move to approve the hiring of Mr. Logan Weir as a seasonal employee in the public works department
at $8 per hour.
