AGENDA ITEM: Approval of the Preperation of Plans and Specifications for the
Purchase/Replacement of Tender 1 as Identified in the 2019 CIP, Project F-
004.

BACKGROUND:
The 2019 CIP contains Item F-004, which is the purchase of a truck identified as Tender 1. This would
replace the current Tender 1, located at Station #1 that has reached the end of its useful lfe. The primary
function of this vehicle is to haul water in our non-hydranted areas.
ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL:
Should the Council approve having staff begin preparing the specifications for a new tender?
PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS:
Staff is recommending the Council approve this action to allow staff to begin the process.
The process will consist of the Fire Department Truck Committee developing the specifications for the
vehicle. Upon completion of this, it will be forwarded on to the Public Saftey Committee for review and
recommendation to the City Council. Following this, it will be back before Council for approval to
purchase.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None until purchase approval.
Estimated cost in CIP is $425,000.00
OPTIONS:
1) Approve the Preperation of Plans and Specifications for the Purchase/Replacement of Tender 1
as Identified in the 2019 CIP, Project F-004.
2) Do not approve.
RECOMMENDATION:
If removed from consent agenda:
Motion to approve the Preperation of Plans and Specifications for the Purchase/Replacement
of Tender 1 as Identified in the 2019 CIP, Project F-004.
