AGENDA ITEM: Public Safety Committee Appointment

BACKGROUND:
Consistent with past practice, staff is presenting a public safety committee member application. With Lisa
McGinn’s recent election to City Council, an opening has occurred on the Public Safety Committee.
ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL:
Who should the Council appoint to the Public Safety Committee?
PROPOSAL:
Council members were emailed a copy of the application materials from John Ehret. Mr. Ehret applied in
2018 and staff has been holding his application until a vacancy occurred.
FISCAL IMPACT:
NA
OPTIONS:
1) Appoint John Ehret to the Public Safety Committee
2) Advertise for other members to the Public Safety Committee
3) Do not make any appointments to the Public Safety Committee
RECOMMENDATION:
“Motion to appoint John Ehret to the Public Safety Committee”
