ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: Should the City Council accept the improvements and approve Pay Request
No. 1 (Final) for the Jane Court Corner Widening project?
BACKGROUND: Improvement work on Jane Court was completed as part of the 2018 Street
Improvements. Upon completion, additional work was requested by Public Works to facilitate improved
traffic flow around the corner by adjusting the curb position and repaving the area. This additional work
was completed under the 2019 Mill and Overlay project to utilize favorable contract prices, however the
work is being funded as part of the 2018 Street Improvements.
PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: T.A. Schifsky and Sons, Inc. has completed the work and has
submitted Pay Request No. 1 (Final) in the contract lump sum amount of $12,400.00. The request has been
reviewed and payment is recommended in the amount requested.
FISCAL IMPACT: None. Payment is proposed in accordance with the 2018 Street Improvements funds.
Payment remains within the authorized scope and budget amount.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff is recommending that the City Council accept the improvements and
approve, as part of the Consent Agenda, Pay Request No. 1 (Final) for the Jane Court Corner Widening
project. If removed from the consent agenda, the recommended motion for the action is as follows:
“Move to accept the improvements and approve Pay Request No. 1 (FINAL) to T.A. Schifsky and Sons,
Inc. in the amount of $12,400 for the Jane Court Corner Widening Project.”
