AGENDA ITEM: Economic Development Authority Appointment

BACKGROUND:
Consistent with past practice, staff is presenting an Economic Development Authority (EDA) member
application. John Schiltz’ term was up the end of 2018 and he decided not reapply.
Per the bylaws of the EDA, citizen members serve staggered three year terms.
ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL:
Who should the Council appoint to the Economic Development Authority?
PROPOSAL:
Council members were emailed a copy of the application materials from Paul Ryberg.
FISCAL IMPACT:
NA
OPTIONS:
1) Appoint Paul Ryberg to the Economic Development Authority for a term ending 12/31/21
2) Advertise for other members to the Economic Development Authority
3) Do not make any appointments to the Economic Development Authority
RECOMMENDATION:
“Motion to appoint Paul Ryberg to the Economic Development Authority for a term ending
12/31/21”
