ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: Review month end activity update from fire department. Advise on any additional information requested.
PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: We had 31 calls in September: 19 Medicals 1 Structure Fires
4 Dispatched and cancelled en route
3 Fire Alarms 1 Extrication from machinery 2 Gas Leaks 1 Downed Power line
31 Total A Command vehicle did not respond on 12 calls for a response rate of 71%. Our average response time was 10.4 minutes from alarm to arrival. 22 calls had 3 or less responders minus
the Duty Officer with 3 call having only 1 personnel on the first due apparatus. 11 calls this month had only shift personnel for responders. Drills for the Month:
#1- Truck Checks and Chief Introduction #2- Right to Know – Target Solutions online
Points of Interest:
- The new Fire Chief, Dustin Kalis started his new role officially on 09/21. 1 new Part
Time FF also began that morning.
- We still have 2 open PT FF positions.
- Very slow month for September as far as call volume. This of course is a good thing
because that means that people were not having as many emergencies. September
was also the first time in recent memory that did not have a car accident response.
Part Timer Accomplishments: - Cleaning and general maintenance at both stations.
- Vehicle and equipment inspections.
- Assisted with Burn Permit applications.
- Vehicle repairs as possible.
- Increased decontamination of apparatus and stations.
- Training of new personnel.
