BACKGROUND:
Finance Director April Botzek resigned Monday, October 26 effective immediately. Botzek’s hire is
guaranteed by the executive recruitment firm Baker Tilly, who will begin recruiting for Finance Directors
at no cost when this resignation is accepted.
In order to keep the Finance Department functioning staff is seeking out firms to provide contracted
finance services.
ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL:
Should the City Council accept April Botzek’s resignation?
PROPOSAL:
Staff is recommending the City Council accept Botzek’s resignation and allow Baker Tilly to begin
executive recruitment at no cost.
RECOMMENDATION:
If removed from the consent agenda:
“Move to accept the resignation of April Botzek.”
