AGENDA ITEM: Job Offer to Part Time Firefighter Applicants
BACKGROUND:
The City advertised for applications for Part Time Firefighter positions on June 11th. On Monday, July
20th applicants were interviewed by staff.
ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL:
Should the Council make a job offer to Aaron Rollings and Ryan Hillman?
PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS:
Staff is recommending the Council make offers to Rollings and Hillman to allow them to proceed in the
process.
The applicants have met the minimum requirements of the hiring process as well as the interview
process. Upon approval of this Job Offer, applicants will move forward in the process. Pending successful
completion of the Psychological Evaluation, the applicants will be placed on the department as Part
Time Firefighters under a six month probationary period.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Wage of $17.99/hour when shift coverage starts. Wage and benefits are provided within the 2020
adopted budget.
OPTIONS:
1)Make job offers to continue with process.
2) Do not approve job offers
RECOMMENDATION:
If removed from consent agenda:
“Motion to hire Aaron Rollings and Ryan Hillman as part-time firefighters at $17.99/hour contingent
upon psychological evaluation.”
