ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: Should the City Council approve Change Order No. 2 for the Stonegate

BACKGROUND: A-1 Excavating, Inc. was awarded a construction contract on May 5, 2020 to complete
the Stonegate Addition Street & Utility Improvements. Work remains in progress with a substantial
completion date of September 25, 2020 and final completion date of November 13, 2020.
PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: A-1 Excavating, Inc. has submitted a change order to address
additional work required as a part of the project. The city directed the contractor to replace the top slab of
two storm sewer structures with a 6-ft. diameter.

revised construction contract to $2,699,854.35. With this change order, the project remains within the
authorized project budget and contingencies.
