AGENDA ITEM: Economic Development Authority Council Representative Appointment

BACKGROUND: Per the resolution establishing the Economic Development Authority (EDA), two members of the board shall be Council members who serve a term consecutive with their term on the Council. Mayor Pearson and Council Member Nelson were the previous appointments to the EDA. Now that their terms have ended the
positions must be filled from the existing council. ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: Who should the Council appoint to the Economic Development Authority? PROPOSAL: The Mayor or any of the four Council members may be appointed to fulfill the requirement. Their term on the EDA will expire when their council term expires (2 or 4 years).
FISCAL IMPACT: NA OPTIONS: 1) Appoint __________________and _______________ as Council representative to the EDA RECOMMENDATION: “Motion to appoint _______________and ______________ as Council representative to the EDA.” ATTACHMENTS:
