ITEM: Update on City Trail System / Trail Segment Inventory

At the June Park Commission meeting, staff presented a system for inventorying trail segments identified in the city’s Comprehensive Trail Guide Plan. This inventory is intended to
serve as a resource for prioritizing and planning for future trail improvements. The inventory includes classifications related to trail type, associated level of connectivity, level
of use, and degree of public safety enhancement. Staff will report on progress to date in compiling this inventory.
Action requested:
Establish a timeline for tasks related to establishing trail development / improvement priorities.
January 19 - - Prioritize base trails.
February 9 - - A. Indentify necessary land acquisition
Compilation of data in categorization system complete.
February 16 - - Prioritize trails segments. Identify potential 2009 trail improvements.
