ITEM: Progress update on Trail Guide Plan implementation steps

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The implementation steps outlined in the City’s Trail Guide were outlined at the November, 2009 Park Commission Meeting. The implementation steps were outlined as follows:
Continue to compile Trail Segment Inventory
Prioritize Base Trail development (based on improving public safety and user group volume)
Base on Base Trail priorities, tasks are:
Negotiate with HOA’s for public easement rights over portion of now-private trail system
Negotiate with private property owners for critical trail connections
Work to resolve other ROW issues
Research grants / funding opportunities
Carol Kriegler will provide an update on progress related to these implementation steps as well as future infrastructure activities that might provide potential for trail development.
