ITEM: Proposed Eagle Scout project presentations

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Staff has been in contact with three local Eagle Scout candidates in recent weeks. All three proposed projects are park & trail related. Two of the projects involve the construction
of information kiosks, one at Sunfish Lake Park and two at Demontreville Wildlife Area. The third project involves construction of a soft-trail from the new parking area at Lake Elmo
Elementary School and the private drive just north of City Hall. The proposed trail would run just west of the City Hall Annex and include a pedestrian bridge over the storm water
swale that runs along the southern border of the City Hall grounds.
It is anticipated that two of the Eagle Scouts will be making brief presentations on their proposed projects.
ACTION REQUESTED:
The Commission is being asked to pass a resolution in support of the projects in general, as well as the associated material and supplies expenditures related to the three projects from
the Park Capital Fund.
