ITEM: Update on Sunfish Lake Park parking area improvements and prairie
restoration project

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Carol Kriegler will report on developments related to scheduled improvements to the parking area and Area 2 of Sunfish Lake Park. Several improvement projects that had been previously
supported by the Parks Commission were formally approved by the City Council at their October 5 meeting. Specifically, a report will be made on the parking area grading plan, rain
garden and run-off pretreatment area designs and associated costs. These plans have been further refined by the City Engineer since the September Park Commission meeting. A timeline
will be presented for the parking area improvement project and related improvements to be completed this fall.
The installation of the Sunfish Lake Prairie was done in the first week of June. Conditions since that time have continued to be nearly perfect for prairie establishment. Carol Kriegler
will provide a status report on the project.
