CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP MINUTES
JUNE 8, 2021
CALL TO ORDER
Called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
PRESENT: Mayor Cadenhead, Councilmembers Dale Dorschner, Jeff Holtz and Lisa McGinn. Absent: Councilmember Katrina Beckstrom.
Staff present: City Administrator Handt, Planning Director Roberts, Fire Chief Kalis, Public Works Director Powers, Finance Director Magureanu and City Clerk Johnson.
CSAH 13/Ideal Avenue Update
Andrew Giesen, Project Manager at Washington County, reviewed the project timeline, benefits of the project, project costs/cost sharing and upcoming events.
Converting 32nd Street to a One-way
Chad Jorgensen, SEH, presented analysis of traffic patterns and parking challenges on 32nd Street in the Old Village. Discussion was held regarding winter parking and emergency vehicle
access.
Commercial Assessments OV 5 and 6
City Engineer Griffin reviewed the project location and commercial properties in the project. Griffin also reviewed assessment methodology and alternate assessment calculations per
front food with adjustments to properties on the south side of the street that are not as deep as the lots on the north side that are 100 feet deep.
American Rescue Plan Act Funding Project Discussion
City Administrator Handt reviewed the program parameters and funding potentially available to the city. Handt also presented some ideas staff generated for use of the funds.
Items for Future Agenda
Items proposed for future agendas were noted by Mayor Cadenhead.
