CONSENT
AGENDA ITEM: Public Works Director Report

ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL:
City Council is asked to review and accept, as part of Consent Agenda, a brief description of activities
that have taken place in the Public Works Department in the month of April 2021.
PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS:
STREETS
• Tree trimming in ROW’s
• Remove Spring Weight Restriction signs
• Continue pot hole repair
• The Heritage, Old Village and Hamlet street/utility projects are underway
• Preparing for 38th/39th, mill overlays and crack fill projects
WATER
• Complete monthly MDH bacteria, fluoride, Lead/copper sampling and submit well
water draw down reports
• Well #5 is scheduled to be on line the second week end of May
• Complete, certify and distribute the 2020 MDH Consumer Confidence Report
• Begin spring hydrant flushing
• Begin turning water on and installing meters for seasonal irrigation systems
SURFACE WATER
• Complete quarterly MS4 facility inspections
• Submit new MS4 permit
PARKS
• Clean up parks and add fresh wood chips around trees
• Begin ball field dragging, weed control and lawn mowing
• Preparing for crack fill maintenance of city owned trails
• Met with county regarding a possible archery deer hunt in Sunfish Lake Park
SAFETY COMMITTIEE
• Completed a monthly safety inspection and made correction for City Hall and the
Brookfield buildings
• Reviewed and made recommendations to provide the Building Department
inspectors with Person Protective Equipment
LABOR MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
• Discussed Public Works staff concerns

Base on the activities listed above, City Council is respectfully asked to accept the April 2021 Public
Works Report.
