AGENDA ITEM: Donation to the Fire Department from Ox & Crow Coffee Roasters TO: Mayor and City Council

BACKGROUND: State statute requires that cities accept donations via resolution.
ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: Should Council accept the donation of $600?
PROPOSAL: Ox & Crow Coffee Roasters has presented the City with a donation of $600 for the Lake Elmo Fire Department. Included in your packet for acceptance as part of the Consent Agenda is a resolution for the
Council to officially accept the donation. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no impact to the 2021 budget as these funds were not anticipated. OPTIONS: 1) Approve Resolution No 2021-062 2) Amend and then Approve Resolution No 2021-062 3) Do not accept the donation RECOMMENDATION: Motion to approve Resolution 2021-062

CITY OF LAKE ELMO WASHINGTON COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 2021-062 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATED FUNDS FROM OX & CROW COFFEE ROASTERS WHEREAS, Minnesota Statues Section 465.03 provides that donations to the City be accepted by resolution of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, Ox & Crow Coffee Roasters have proposed contributing $600 to the City of Lake Elmo; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo agrees that said contribution would be of benefit to the citizens of Lake Elmo; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo, Minnesota, does hereby acknowledges and agrees to accept said donation of $600 from Ox & Crow Coffee Roasters on behalf of the citizens of Lake Elmo.
