BACKGROUND: A-1 Excavating, Inc. was awarded a construction contract on March 16, 2021 to complete the Hamlet on Sunfish Lake Street and Utility Improvements. Work remains in progress with a substantial completion date of October 15, 2021 and final completion date of June 30, 2022. PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: A-1 Excavating, Inc has submitted a change order to address additional work required to grade and smooth out access routes located in the HOA Outlot K, that is being used for access to the site to clean and restore the drainage swales from the street storm sewer outlets. FISCAL IMPACT: This change order will increase the contract in the amount of $11,670.00 bringing the revised construction contract to $2,888,078.00. With this change order, the project remains within the authorized budget and contingencies. RECOMMENDATION: Staff is recommending that the City Council approve, as part of the Consent Agenda, Change Order No. 1 for the Hamlet on Sunfish Lake Street and Utility Improvements. If removed from the consent agenda, the recommended motion for the action is as follows: “Move to approve Change Order No. 1 for the Hamlet on Sunfish Lake Street and Utility Improvements, thereby increasing the contract amount by $11,670.00”.
