PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: We had 51 calls in October: 33 Medical Incidents 5 Dispatched and Cancelled En Route 3 Motor Vehicle Accident w/ Injuries 3 Natural Gas / LP Leak 1 Motor Vehicle Accident w/ Injuries 1 Sprinkler Activation 1 Fire Alarm Activation – Unintentional 1 Brush / Grass Fire 1 Vehicle Fire 1 No Incident Found on Arrival 1 False Call (call created in error) 51 Total Incidents through October 2021: 455 (2020 YTD: 461) Our average response time was 10.5 minutes from alarm to arrival. 30 calls had 3 or less responders minus the Duty Officer with 19 calls having only 1 personnel on the first due apparatus. Drills and Activities for the Month: #1 – Training Drill: Live Burn at the East Metro Public Safety Training Facility #2 – Truck Checks #3 – Officers Meeting #4 – Training Drill: Ambulance Review and BLS Skills Fire Inspection Activity: 27 Business Fire Inspection & Preplan 3 Development / Project Review 3 Fire Sprinkler 1 Fire Alarm 1 Commercial Kitchen 1 Incident Follow Up 2 Burn Permits Points of Interest: - Several staff completed Fire Apparatus Operator training and state certification. - Two staff completed their initial Emergency Medical Responder training and state certification. - Fire Chief attended the annual Minnesota State Fire Chiefs Association Conference in Duluth. Part Time Staff Accomplishments: - Cleaning and general maintenance at Station #1 and Station #2. - Vehicle and equipment inspections. - Assisted with Burn Permit applications. - Vehicle repairs as possible. - Equipment repairs and maintenance. - Continued decontamination of apparatus and stations. - Continued training of new personnel. - Hydrant mapping and valve oiling.
