ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL:
City Council is asked to review and accept, as part of Consent Agenda, a brief description of activities
that have taken place in the Public Works Department in the month of December 2021.
PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS:
STREETS
• ROW brush/tree removal continues
• Continue with sign replacement
• Removed Large trees in Parks and ROWs
• I attended a three day leadership class
• Attend to streets and sidewalks after winter weather events
• Holiday luncheon

WATER
• Continue dropping off around 40 new construction meters
• Pumped water out of all underground vaults for winter
• Lake Elmo Ave Pressure Reducing Valve was found leaking then repaired
• Complete monthly MDH sampling
• Complete and Submit Emergency Response Plan
• Completed 4th Quarter Meter Reading
STORMSEWER

SEWER
• Replaced mix flush valves in Lisbon and 94th liftstations
• Replace Force Main Air Release Valve on Lake Elmo Ave
SAFETY COMMITTIEE
• December’s Safety Committee meeting reviewed two incidents

PARKS
• Improved Reid park trails, avoiding wet areas
• Groom Sunfish Lake Park and Reid Park Trails after snow events
• Flood regularly and open rinks for skating
• Relocate buckthorn piles in Sunfish Lake Park
RECOMMENDATION: Base on the activities listed above, City Council is respectfully asked to accept
the December 2021 Public Works Report.
