AGENDA ITEM: Promotion of Paid on Call Firefighter
BACKGROUND:
Dale Klitzke was hired as a Paid on Call Firefighter on August 17, 2021 and completed his
probationary requirements on August 1, 2022.
ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL:
Should Dale Klitzke be promoted to Paid on Call Firefighter in full standing?
PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS:
Dale Klitzke has successfully completed his probationary requirements as follows: State Certified
Firefighter I & II, State Certified Hazardous Material Operations, First Responder, and CPR,
Approximately 200 hours of training, and maintenance of response requirement, drills, and training.
Promotion to Firefighter status includes a wage increase from $12.36/hour to $14.42/hour.
FISCAL IMPACT:
POC Firefighter wage increase consistent with 2022 budget.
OPTIONS:
1. Promote Dale Klitzke to Firefighter
2. Do not promote.
RECOMMENDATION:
If removed from consent agenda:
“Motion to Promote Paid on Call Firefighter Dale Klitzke to Firefighter Status”
