CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP MINUTES
FEBRUARY 15, 2023
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Cadenhead called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
PRESENT: Mayor Charles Cadenhead, Councilmembers Katrina Beckstrom, Jeff Holtz and Lisa
McGinn. ABSENT: Councilmember Matt Him.
PLANNING COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Kyle Risner, Commissioners Brian
Steil, Micah Vrieze, Thomas Rehkamp and Jim Williams.
Staff present: City Administrator Handt, City Planner Jensen and City Clerk Johnson.
Planning Commission Work Plan
The draft Planning Commission Work Plan was discussed. Training opportunities and
communication between the Commission and City Council were discussed. Council and
Commissioners also discussed recruitment for vacant positions on the Commission and offered
ideas for increasing interest in serving on the Planning Commission.
Request for Proposals for Purchase of City Land
Administrator Handt reviewed the background of the property and noted the challenges the
property presents related to the location of sewer connection and topography of the site. Access
points on CSAH 14 were discussed.
Items for Future Agenda
Administrator Handt noted that the next workshop will include a presentation from Community
Thread.
