ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: Should Council accept the donation of $1,000? PROPOSAL: Resident Audrey Szymansky presented the City with a donation of $1,000 for the Lake Elmo Fire Department. In January of 2022, she was impacted by a house fire and wanted to express her appreciation for the departments’ actions with a donation. Included in your packet for acceptance as part of the Consent Agenda is a resolution for the Council to officially accept the donation. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no impact to the 2023 budget as these funds were not anticipated. OPTIONS: 1) Approve Resolution No 2023-099 2) Amend and then Approve Resolution No 2023-099 3) Do not accept the donation RECOMMENDATION: Motion to approve Resolution 2023-099 ATTACHMENTS: • Resolution 2023-099 CITY OF LAKE ELMO WASHINGTON COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 2023-099 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATED FUNDS FROM AUDREY SZYMANSKY WHEREAS, Minnesota Statues Section 465.03 provides that donations to the City be accepted by resolution of the City Council; and WHEREAS, Audrey Szymansky had proposed contributing $1,000 to the Lake Elmo Fire Department; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo agrees that said contribution would be of benefit to the citizens of Lake Elmo; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo, Minnesota, does hereby acknowledges and agrees to accept said donation of $1,000 from Audrey Szymansky on behalf of the citizens of Lake Elmo.
